We have a BIG boy on our hands now!

Out with the old and in with the new....bed that is! We have drug our feet long enough and FINALLY felt that it was time to get our big boy into a big boy bed and out of his baby bed. Most of my friends have children Cort's age, but also have a little one that quickly followed the first, so they were forced to transfer the first one into a toddler bed. Well, that wasn't the case with us, so we were stuck trying to decide when we should transition him into a toddler bed. After all, a toddler bed gives your toddler more freedom to rome around in the morning when your not awake, right? Exactly!! That's why we have waited so long. We always told ourselves that when he started crawling out of his bed then we would make the transition. Well, that never happened. He did, however, start crawling into his bed?!?! That was about the time we figured it was time. AND plus he was 3 and getting a bit heavy lifting him into that bed at night. We decided that the transition would go better if we got new bedding with a character that he loves. So, we found a Spiderman bedding set and a cute cute cute sleigh bed!!

He absolutely loves his new bed. He was so proud that he was now sleeping in a 'big boy' bed.

Here he is all tucked in with his babies, ready for nite-nite......(Mommy and Daddy were a bit anxious wondering if this was going to be a long night of up and down with him?!?!?!)

To our surprise, he did not get up one time. Fast asleep he fell.....

He didn't get up all night long! We were so afraid that we were going to wake up with him standing there looking at us, but he didn't. I think he was waiting for me to come and get him out of bed this morning like usual. He layed there chatting until I came in to get him. He looked up at me and smiled really big. Then he hopped out of bed and told me that this was his big boy bed and babies sleep in his other bed! WOW! Our little man is getting so big. I'm happy and sad all wrapped in one....

Introducing Mr. Alligator.........

Cort comes home from school singing the cutest songs. He started singing this one and I had to get it on video and share with everyone. It was way too cute not to share!!

Such a cutie patootie!

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning in San Antonio.....

We are now back at home and ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. YAY!! To help us celebrate, PaPa and Uncle Keith came down for a few days. This year was soooo much fun with Cort. He's now 3 yrs old and talks about Santa all of the time. He kept telling us that Santa is coming, Santa is coming. So it was really neat to be able to tell him that Santa was actually coming over night. We started Christmas Eve off with an absolutely delicious seafood dinner!! YUM YUM!! Then we decided that we should feed the reindeer. Not only did Santa need to have cookies, but the reindeer needed food too. So we gathered some oatmeal and put a little red and green glitter in it and wah-la, reindeer food you have. Daddy and Cort went outside to sprinkle it in the grass. Cort was soooooo excited about this. It was too cute!

Next, time to bake fresh chocholate chip cookies for Santa. Talk about exicted. Cort couldn't wait for them to be done. He sat right by the oven and watched them as they baked =)

We set the cookies out.....

And lil stinker Cort started pretending to take a bite of them =) Heehee Lil funny guy!

Good morning sleepy head....look what Santa brought you! We actually had to go in and wake him up because we were so excited to see his face that morning. Loving the bed head....so sweet!

WOW, look Mommy and Daddy, Santa brought me a Thomas the train set!!! (Cort must have been a good little boy this year =)

Cort loves his train.....

Great Uncle Vince sent Cort this cute cute outfit from China. Too cute not to share!

Our little Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

We had a wonderful Christmas with Papa and Uncle Keith. What a busy, yet FUN and EXCITING December this has been!! Looking forward to many, many more!!! We have been truely blessed with a great family!

Harlingen Christmas

For those of you that are close to us, you know December is a month of traveling for us. We have family in Houston and in Harlingen and like to see all of them when the holidays are here. This particular weekend (Dec 19th), we traveled down to Harlingen to visit Great Grandma (G.G.), Grandma (Grammy), Uncle Keith and Uncle Kevin. We arrived and what a wonderful welcome. Grammy always has the house so beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were soooooo excited to see everyone!

Sat evening we had a wonderful seafood dinner and then opened presents. Cort was soooooo excited when it was time to sit down and open the presents. He could hardly stand it.

Here is Cort trying to remain calm waiting for everyone to gather to open presents. In the meantime, we snagged a cute cute cute picture of Cort and G.G.

Time for a family picture, minus me (I was taking the pic!). What a wonderful family we have!!!! Love them bunches!

Mommy and Cort (one of the few pictures we have these days w/out the cheesball smile..LOL) I'm surprised he sat long enough for us to snag a picture of him...little busy body!

Finally, time to open the presents!! YAY! Cort opened the first present and it was a Black and Decker tool bench from Grammy. WOW, he was sooooooo excited!! He wanted to open it right then!!! Unfortunately, it required assembly so he had to wait. Poor fella!

Since we took turns opening one gift at a time, Cort had to be very patient. Which for a 3 year old, isn't that easy. Here is Cort rolling around on the couch being silly. Of course Mommy was right by him snapping pics. He was just sooo excited and happy!!

Here is a cute pic of Cort giving Uncle Keith a big hug for the cool race track he gave him. Too cute not to post!

After Daddy was soooo kind to assemble his tool bench, Cort played with it for hours! He absolutely loved this thing. Mommy highly suggests it to all with little boys this age!

AND here is Cort's Grammy the morning we left loving on her little man :)

What a wonderful time we had with our wonderful family. We are truely blessed and so thankful for them!!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy to our precious little boy! We were blessed with an angel on this day 3 years ago!! We decided to have a birthday party for him at a friend's house in Houston so that our friends and family from Houston could attend. Cort was soooo excited that it was his birthday!! We asked him what kind of cake he wanted and he would tell us that he wanted cupcakes with Lightning MQueen, Mater and Chick Hicks on top (for those of you who don't know, these are characters from the Cars movie, which he LOVES LOVES LOVES!) He was blessed with great friends and family who bought him lots of toys....lil stinker!

Here is Cort with his first remote control car.....he absolutely loves this thing!

And knowing that Cort just loves Spiderman, Aunt Carrie had to buy him blinking glasses. So cute! Funny thing is, he often tries to get Mommy and Daddy to wear them too! Now that's a sight to see...heehee

I'm not quiet sure Cort was excited about everyone singing Happy Birthday to him. He appeared to be very shy, which we all know is NOT the case! Thankfully Aunt Carrie was holding him so he could bury his face while everyone sang to him :)

Cort had a wonderful 3rd birthday, surrounded by friends and family that love him very much! Mommy and Daddy can't believe he is already 3 years old!!! WOW how time flies and WOW how much joy this little guy has brought to us! We are so proud of him and soooooo very thankful GOD has blessed our lives with him!

Santa is coming....

Last night was the lighting of Bulverde Village, so we ventured to downtown Bulverde with a great group of friends. It was really neat because it had that small town feel with people everywhere. Our first stop was the Bulverde post office....

This is where Cort was able to 'scribble' a letter to Santa,

Then mail it off to him.

Let's make it sure it didn't get stuck!

Afterwards, we ventured over to an area where they were serving egg nog, spiced tea and yummy cookies. Very Christmassy feeling!

There were so many little fun Christmas activities at each of the little businesses downtown, even a little petting zoo!! (Didn't expect this, but I guess that's what you get in a small town!!) Cort loved the little goat :)

Even an area for picture taking and yes, mommy made him pose! He looks like a little monster ready to tear into the night. AND that's exactly what he did! With him are my friend's kids who served to be lifesavers to me thorughout the night. They helped me all night keeping my little gremlin corraled and boy did I need the help!

One of the areas that was set up was a field with beautiful lights, shaped as Christmas trees and other lit up Christmas decorations. Cort took off running and into the middle of the Christmas trees he went! YIKES! HELP!! Fun for him, but not so fun for mommy! When I got him out of there, his little feet were wrapped in the extension cords and he was dragging them with him. Oh Dear..I had to act fast before the pretty Christmas lighting was torn down!!

Here is the result of mommy getting after Cort and firmly letting him know that it was NOT ok to run away from me in a large crowd of people into the Christmas lighting!! I think he realized Mommy meant business!

It was now getting to the time when Santa was coming. So we ventured down to the street and patiently waited for Santa to come by on the firetruck. Cort kept saying, "Santa is coming. Santa is coming." So sweet and innocent!! I love it!

Santa arrived and I'm not quite sure Cort knew what to think about him.

Santa came and left and then off to the firetruck we went! I think this might have been the highlight of the night for Cort. He was sooooooooo excited to be able to get in the firetruck.

Big stuff in the front seat...

His smile is worth it all.....

We ended up having to tell Cort that the firetruck was going 'night, night' because he DID NOT want to leave. He finally turned around and waved to the firetruck and said 'night, night'.

Cort will be 3 on Dec. 16th. He is definitely at that fun age now that makes all the holidays just that much greater seeing his excitement!

Trick or Treat

This was Corts first year to go trick or treating and boy was he excited!! He kept telling us that he wanted to go to the Halloween Party, but really pronounced like 'potty'!! (He had a Halloween party at his school and gots lots and lots of 'cannies', so I think he was expecting the same thing.) While we were getting ready to go over to our friend's house, Cort kept saying, over and over and over, let's go to the Halloween party and let's go bye bye. AND of course, before we left, Mommy had to take some pre pics of the Halloween night! Meet Spiderman and his Mommy and Daddy =)

We were so thankful to have good friends to share this experience with. We made it to their house and off we went to the Church's Fall Festival. My good friend AA has a little girl who is 11, AA, and boy did she take Cort under her wing. It was precious!

They had an area for preschool games and Cort was in 'cannie' heaven! He was able to play many games like fishing, pin the nose on the pumpkin, and many more!

Mommy was so proud of her little man for doing such a good job at all the fun games!

After the Preschool games, we ventured over to the gym area where there were more fun activities! Mommy spotted an area that allowed her, Daddy and Cort to get their pictures taken. I'm not real sure Daddy was too excited about it, but he played along...(The things you will do for your child =))

Cort also played football. This game consisted of getting this football through a tire hole that was hanging from the ceiling. CLEARLY not a game for his age, but he REALLY wanted to do it. Boy was he persistent in getting that football through the hole. Daddy was there with him the entire time trying to help him. After SEVERAL misses, he finally made it through!! Way to go Cort!

After the Church Festival, we decided to go and do some traditional trick or treating. Thankfully AA was a trooper and was right by his side, even when he would fall trying to keep up with the big kiddos. He reminded me of Maggie off the Simpsons. He would fall with his candy running to keep up with the others and AA would be right there like Mama hen helping him. Thank you AA, you're soooo sweet!

Cort got lots and lots of 'cannies' and wore Mommy and Daddy out!! We ended up over at our friend's house where we proceeded to eat and eat. The kids started to watch a movie and fast asleep they fell, except for Cort, while the adults visited. He outlasted the older kids, that is until we got in the car to go home. Not even 2 minutes in the car and he was out. He had a great time and so did we!! Thank you to our sweet friends!
